The story of Krishna Mines Group is the story of a family's unwavering commitment to mining excellence, environmental responsibility, and community well-being. What began as a modest limestone quarry in 1958 has grown into one of South India's most trusted mining groups.

Founded in the small town of Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, Krishna Mines Group has been passed down through four generations — each adding new capabilities, new products, and new milestones while staying true to the founding values of integrity, quality, and community.

From a single quarry in 1958 to a diversified mining group serving millions — our journey through the decades.

1958

1st Generation

The Beginning

Our founder acquired the first limestone mining lease in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, beginning the Krishna Mines legacy with a small open-cast quarry and a team of 15 workers.

1968

Growing the Base

Expanding Operations

The second generation expanded to three new quarry sites, invested in the first mechanical crusher, and established long-term supply contracts with regional cement plants.

1975

New Markets

Industrial Lime Production

Set up the first lime kiln, entering the industrial lime market. High-grade quicklime and hydrated lime production began, serving sugar mills and chemical industries in Tamil Nadu.

1985

Modern Era

Processing Plant

State-of-the-art mineral processing plant commissioned with advanced screening and classification equipment. Production capacity doubled. First bulk tanker fleet acquired.

1995

Professional Management

3rd Generation Joins

Third generation brought professional management, quality systems, and new product development capabilities. ISO certification process initiated.

2005

Consumer Products

Alpine White Launch

Launch of the Alpine White consumer product range with Wallputty — the first branded consumer product. Opened a completely new market segment.

2012

Green Commitment

Environmental Excellence

Received first environmental excellence award from Tamil Nadu government. Implemented comprehensive environmental management system with zero-discharge water recycling.

2018

High-Tech Processing

Micronization Division

Commissioned modern micronization plant producing ultra-fine calcium carbonate (GCC) for paint, plastics, and pharmaceutical industries. New products: Aqua Proof, Floor Fixer.

2020

Technology Adoption

Digital Transformation

Fourth generation led digital transformation — ERP, online sales portal, customer app, drone monitoring, and IoT sensors for real-time production tracking.
